
While it’s hard to put TravelNet in a neat little box because it is a platform like no other, it will help if you understand our vision and our tools to make that vision a reality. TravelNet started as an answer to the toughest problems in the travel industry, to help travelers, the businesses operating in the industry, and the creative people, like content creators and influencers who have been a huge asset to the industry but are often marginalized due to a lack of recognition of “being part of the industry”.
Most of the problems ailing the industry affect many participants, both on the consumer/traveler and on the business side. Some of these issues can’t be solved alone, or by any single company. A real solution can only be achieved by a concerted effort, which requires cooperation, coordination, connection and the technical background to make it all possible. An example is the uneven distribution of tourist flows: while certain destinations that get a lot of attention are overcrowded, others that are just as interesting, are almost unknown. No business, organization, entity or even country has the resources to change this – the necessary changes that will benefit and positively affect everyone involved will only happen as a result of a coordinated effort.
This is where TravelNet comes in. What we do:
– Provide tools for travelers from the inspiration phase to suggest experiences, activities, and destinations matched to their interests and travel preferences. So what is recommended is personal, tailored to them, and doesn’t direct their attention to the same “top of the list” items that are probably not the best match for them and would also contribute to the uneven distribution of tourism flows. Genuinely personal recommendations that ignore what’s “most popular” and focus on the individual traveler’s interests are the holy grail of travel, but no platform before TravelNet has been capable of delivering on this promise. The reason is simple: no one knows what travelers want before they start searching, and every platform starts with the question “where do you want to go?” They assume the traveler already knows where they would find the experiences they seek, leaving them to do their initial research using random tools that are ill fit for the purpose – social media, “most popular things to do” lists etc. which all make the problem worse and lack any personalization. We are changing this by providing the tools to do proper research to match each individual traveler with the activities, experiences and destinations that are best for THEM, as opposed to a non-existent “everybody” or “typical traveler” which is everyone else’s target audience.
– We provide businesses in the travel industry with opportunities to promote their services to the exact right target audiences, with hyper-targeted marketing solutions that respect privacy but are still able to match each traveler with what they want the most – using our proprietary solutions, that are the result of our in-house R&D and unique to TravelNet.
– We help content creators and influencers do what they do best: provide the genuine “been there, done that” human perspective, experience and first hand guidance travelers are looking for when doing research to make informed choices about their upcoming trip. We help creators do this more effectively, getting more eyeballs (and the right ones) on their content, providing them with new ways of monetizing their work, and reducing friction that results from having to put often irrelevant, annoying and ineffective promotional messages all over their content. A few laser-targeted offers that reach the right audience at the right time are way more profitable (and appreciated by visitors) than irrelevant ones, such as “book now!” links when the traveler doesn’t even know their destination or dates. We are doing this by creating new, more efficient and more user friendly ways to market and monetize content.
– We connect professionals in the travel industry for networking, communication, partnerships, promotions, campaigns and other purposes that result in more cooperation and success.
– We are constantly evolving out technical infrastructure to provide better integrations, connections and more seamless experiences for travelers and industry participants. One example is TravelNet ID, our tool to log in to and connect with various platforms and systems for a more seamless and integrated journey. For example, “Book with TravelNet ID” enables travelers to book on hotel direct booking pages with the convenience of an OTA, without having to enter all their personal details – their TravelNet ID prefills booking forms, payment info and even their individual preferences for them.
These are just a few examples. Our vision TravelNet is to be the “glue” that holds the travel industry together, and the missing personalization, communication and connection platform both travelers and the industry so badly needs. Each of our tools works on its own, but the true power of TravelNet is in the integration of all of these tools in a single, comprehensive platform that exists for the purpose of making travel better, and making it work for everyone.
